Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a very safe and effective treatment that has been practiced for thousands of years. This holistic approach to medicine takes the whole physiological makeup of the body into account, not just isolated symptoms. By doing an extensive interview with each patient, acupuncturists are able to piece together certain patterns that fall under Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) pathology. Treatments are focused on the root of the medical problem, which will help alleviate adverse symptoms such as pain and stress.

During a session, thin sterile disposable needles are placed at specific acupoints on the body, which in turn promotes natural healing and improved physiological function. Acupuncture sensations from the needle vary depending on the person. Most patients report feeling little to no sensation when being needled. The needles are extremely thin, very different than the thicker needles used to give injections.

Acupuncture has been recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH)and the World Health Organization (WHO) to be effective in treating many physical ailments.
